Luigi è un bambino di Pianura (quartiere di Napoli), ha 9 anni ed è affetto da atrofia muscolare spinale di tipo 1 (SMA 1). Ha subito un intervento di tracheotomia all’età di sei mesi, per cui è in ventilazione meccanica assistita 24 ore su 24. Non ha mai appreso l’uso della parola e comunica con “gli occhi”. Non è mai stato scolarizzato per la mancanza di una valida assistenza scolastica. Usufruisce di insegnante a domicilio per un paio d’ore tre volte alla settimana.
Tutto ciò che è riuscito ad ottenere dalle Istituzioni sono tre ore di assistenza giornaliere (materiale e infermieristica, con prescrizione di compresenza).
La madre è una donna molto attiva e riesce ormai a gestire le diverse problematiche della malattia. Il nemico contro cui lotta è il tempo. Da sempre è in contatto (invano) con gli Enti Territoriali (Comune, Regione, ASL), nella speranza che le aumentino le ore di assistenza domiciliare, in modo da poter avere il tempo di occuparsi anche di altro: casa, spesa… e, perché no, se stessa! Le sue giornate, invece, trascorrono inesorabilmente in the care of Louis .

I bisogni, le necessità, le speranze di questi protagonisti e delle loro famiglie, sono storie emblematiche di migliaia di persone vivono ogni giorno anche nel nostro Paese.

Ovvero dobbiamo essere tutti consapevoli che il potere non vuole che di politica si parli e si discuta. Ma che campagna elettorale è senza talk show? Una campagna di regime.
Mettiamola così: la gente è preoccupata, tanti sono senza lavoro, più poveri. Ci chiediamo che cosa stia succedendo ma soprattutto che cosa stanno facendo "quelli" che hanno vinto le ultime elezioni. E' troppo, chiedere? Sì. Chiedere e sapere è troppo per il regime padano-berlusconiano. Loro, che hanno in mano tutto e possono fare dell'informazione (ma non nella rete) quello che vogliono, imbavagliano la verità, la discussione, la contrapposizione delle idee. Non sia mai che qualcuno, deluso da Berlusconi che si fa gli affari suoi e dalla Lega che si fa i propri ( e i nostri?)possa cambiare idea.
E allora sotto con la campagna elettorale degli spot, dove vince chi racconta la balla più colossale, fa la promessa più audace, ovviamente da non mantenere. Dove, soprattutto, vince chi ha più soldi. Che nel nostro caso corrisponde a chi ha meno interesse a confrontarsi con gli altri.
E questi sarebbero quelli del popolo della libertà?
